Plate G2.no24: Wind power: Sunset South of Thurso (Scotland)
Two-thirds of the way through filming the third series of ‘Scotland’s Home of the Year’ BBC tv programme, as we were heading South from Thurso, having come from Orkney, I was conscious that I’d barely taken any pictures whilst out filming – and the ‘shoot’ was now nearly over.
To the West, the sun was setting, so atypically glorious as Scottish sunsets are. It would have been easy to photograph, but the picture would lack foreground. And then I espied a wind farm……
Basically, this is carpet-bombing photography – I snapped away as we drove past, and then picked the best, of which there was really only one!
As for the subject matter? It’s all about power. I was exhausted – but the urge to photograph rejuvenated. Or was it the sun…?
