Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Glasgow School of Art was not the only building which was significant in my life; so was his Glasgow Herald Building.
That’s it – fulfilling the view, from the top of West Nile Street.
I completed a full set of measured drawings of this building for my architectural dissertation (which can be viewed in the Mackintosh School of Architecture Library). I came to know every inch of the building – and yet I missed the narrative: that the building, by its form and decoration, tells the story of the life of a bluebell.
