Plate G2.no1: View South from Kilcreggan Peninsula (West coast of Scotland)

This picture holds especial significance for me. It has an easier interpretation – and another, infinitely more rewarding……
The location is a convenient 10K from where I lived at the time. I walked there often. Sometimes, one could see the isle of Arran in the distance – but not on this occasion. Gloomily, the clouds hung strangely low; less like clouds, more like a veil……
Grief too, veils, and darkly. One constantly yearns for light; when even meagre light appears, one is immeasurably grateful……
Such is the easier interpretation. But – though grief might block my light, it is not my enemy. It is righteous; concurrently, light does not object. It persists, regardless.
Together, though unnaturally wed, they can produce beauty……it all just depends on how one chooses to see things……
