Plate G2.no7: View from Rhu to the Kilcreggan Peninsula (Scotland)
This picture was taken looking from Rhu across to the Kilcreggan Peninsula on Scotland’s West coast.
The light and more so, the colours caught my eye. Something mystical seemed about unfold, a scene set accordingly. Everything was incredibly still. It was as if the landscape had become a painting, of a backdrop; the scenery become scenography.
I drove this road many times – but I never saw the view as such ever again. I certainly never saw such deep rich dark tones, nor such stationary wholesome clouds.
It made me wonder: was this view all pre-prepared? And after I pass, does the scenery get dismantled and evaporate, brought into existence for the purposes only for capturing on film?
Either way, I’d prefer that moments so crafted never pass un-witnessed……
