Plate G4.no4: The Necropolis (Glasgow)
I was so taken with the photographs by Oscar Marzaroli. There’s one of his in particular, a view of Glasgow looking South from Park Circus; half of the picture is sky……a sky, of both clouds and sun, atypical of Glasgow – so much so, local band Deacon Blue used the picture for the cover of their album: ‘Raintown’.
I remember when I saw this picture of mine, I was so proud to have caught a bit of sky, similar enough to provoke fanciful thoughts of meeting his approval. I like to think so still……fleetingly, as I like to think of him, sometimes, someone I barely knew, yet someone who has had such a profound effect on me; as a photograph can: moments, brief but beautiful, caught, that in turn, captivate forever.
