Plate G6.no5: The Cobbler 3 – July 2016 – Hill Sleet Blues
There’s no seasonal logic in Scotland. This picture was taken in July. July. It was by far the worst weather of the six climbs. I remember it being bitterly cold, raining, and ultimately the peak when reached being completely shrouded in a freezing fog. There wasn’t much lingering done, and certainly, no time spent admiring the view.
Nevertheless, isn’t the peak of the Cobbler magnificent? Impassively it sat, unphased in the slightest by such trite concerns as weather, of cold, or fog, or of absence.
I took heart being witness to its resolution. I was much in need of same at the time.
