Plate G2.no2: Skye (Scotland)

I love Skye. I cannot pin down why exactly; there is just something extraordinary about this island. It has a unique air about it. Undeniably, it is a microcosm – but conjured just so, as recognisable yet categorically different, and thereby offering a comparative counterpoint: that life need not be pre-determined and subjected to the myriad of factors deemed so significant elsewhere……
Life and time seem to rest on Skye, patiently allowing one opportunity to grasp hopefully and with solace at lost truths. Maybe……?
One evening, whilst driving back on the A87 to Sligachan, I stopped to take this picture. It felt strange, and somehow inappropriate, to pull over – perhaps, as I wonder now, because one does not stop on Skye? How can one – when one is already paused?
