Plate G2.no8: Reservoir with Concrete near Glen Fruin (Scotland)
Between 2016-2018 I undertook six charity treks.* I trained, diligently for these treks, often setting myself specific goals; as such I would tend to follow established definable routes.
On this day however, I went awol. I struck out across undulating fields, somewhere just above Garelochhead (West coast of Scotland). There was no path to follow. I did have a rough idea where I was……but, nevertheless, I got lost; and whilst lost I came across this rather surreal body of water.
I love this picture. As for why, I suppose because it is so surreal – it’s hardly of its place; and then there’s the concrete, apparently floating…
It felt like a reward, for taking the path less, or indeed, never travelled……
