I rather like this photograph, insofar as it captured much of the day-by-day experience of the Rockies trek: that wherever one went, the Rockies were ever-present, standing sentinel over the horizon, patiently waiting whilst one stopped for fuel, made a call or paid one.
Their omnipresence and statuesque character forever reminded us that we were just passing through…
