Lake Louise – Banff (Canada) *
Before heading out to see Lake Louise, we were told that it was beautiful – but in a somewhat disdainful way, dismissively even. I could discern easily why the tone: Lake Louise is beautiful – see for yourself – but it is not atypical of the landscape; and yet it is the tourist attraction, and inevitably so: because of its beauty……
I understand why such a tone was adopted – if I were a local I think I would have felt much the same: resentful. But, such inflection: I try to forget – because Lake Louise is beyond beauty. It is truly heavenly……regardless of the tourists. I was one, and gladly so, to have seen such an incredible sight as Lake Louise.
