Plate G7.no9: Hadrian’s Wall – Cumbria (England)*
This photograph came about because of intimidation.
The picture I actually wanted to take was not possible, because another photographer had got there before me – and he was clearly planning to be there for a while. He had all the gear, the tripod, the cameras, the lenses, the look.
I suppose I could have asked him to move – but that would not have been right. And anyway, as I said – I was intimidated. I’ve never mastered the technicalities of photography; well, once upon a time – but now, all I have is my phone……
So, I went away, and nearby, found this picture instead. I think it’s fair to say, that it too, is intimidating – but Romans invading countries and building great big fuck off walls across them will do that.
