Plate G2.no13: Farmtrack: Anonymous and Ubiquitous (Scotland)
I often wonder about providence, when thinking about photography. What makes one turn one’s head, at any particular moment?
I took this picture from a car, parked up by the roadside somewhere in Scotland, whilst filming the first series of the BBC programme: ‘Scotland’s Home of the Year’. Loitering in such fashion happens a lot whilst filming; why we stopped here, on this occasion was no more significant than any other. But – I turned my head, and the picture was taken.
It sat, for a while, unacknowledged, as being too easy. Such dirt tracks proliferate; why should this one be any more special? But then I noticed the yin/yang of the sky on the horizon, flanking the path, and that gave me pause. Somehow, this picture makes me wonder……
