Between 2016 and 2018 I completed six challenge treks in support of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. Whilst training for the first three of these treks I kept a diary. This is the final volume of that diary, the sixth of six.
At the time I was consumed by grief, consequent to the death of my son Christopher in October 2014. The diary is a repository of observations, thoughts and feelings attendant, as much as it is a record of my 180 days of training in preparation for the treks. The diary is photographically illustrated throughout. (Certain photographs are available for purchase, in the ‘PHOTOGRAPHY’ section of this website).
Volume 6 covers the period between 2nd March to 22nd August 2017 (Training Days 151-180). I began training for my next trek in the Rockies, by completing a walk across Scotland on the Forth and Clyde/Union canal.
