Sunset on the Road – near Calgary (Canada)*
Of the six treks I undertook between 2016 and 2018, some were treks of the type that began and ended, by walking, from start to finish. Others were daily hikes, between which there were car journeys. Such was the case for the Rockies trek. There were many such car journeys – and this was the first, heading away from the airport at Calgary, in the evening, as the sun set.
I took quite a few photographs out the car window on this trek. Of this one, kindly the sun chose to position itself centered in the frame – and as such, and by the sun’s complimentary intensity, though the setting is radically different, I’m always reminded of Monet’s ‘Impression Sunrise’ when I look at this photograph. Maybe that’s just me……
