Plate G7.no14: Homewood Cemetery – Squirrel Hill – Pittsburgh (USA)*
I came across this cemetery by accident, one day whilst walking through the leafy suburbs of Pittsburgh: Squirrel Hill.
I wrote fairly extensively about thoughts inspired by this place, in the diary I was keeping at the time, as I trained for charity challenge treks that I undertook between 2016 to 2018.* These treks were all undertaken consequential to the death of my son Christopher in 2014.
Inevitably, thoughts inspired by this cemetery, and in particular to its proudly sited obelisks, were related to that terrible occurrence. Suffice to say, in my opinion, gravestones will never adequately mark the place of rest of our loved ones…
