Plate G6.no7: The Cobbler 2 – May 2016 – Panoramas Past
It always strikes me as levelling, when one considers the history of things, and their relative relationship. For example, I often think about buildings and wonder about the period of time they have occupied, and of the lives that have come and gone whilst that building yet remains.
So it is with trekking, notably when that trekking becomes an ascent. I cannot help but invite similar thoughts, of the time and space these vast lumps of rock occupy.
The Cobbler has been around for a long time. Much longer in fact than cobblers – who are passing too, into the past, whilst yet, the Cobbler remains…….
Instinctively, I’ve made this photograph sepia. I suppose I’m just trying to capture a past.
