Plate G6.no6: The Cobbler 5 – December 2016 – Shadow Play
I remember distinctly, why I took picture. I was trying to capture the peak of the Cobbler in its broader context.
I think childhood memories provoke the assumption: that the top of mountains will be: ‘pointy’ – but of course, they’re not like that. The Cobbler is obviously special because of its unique profile (hence the name) – but its peak, per se, is definitely not all ‘pointy’, despite the distinctiveness of its upwardly protruding outcrop: there are ridges, dips and hollows, and areas of flatter slopes, which add to the whole composition: of a place expectant with additional scenographic possibility.
Unfortunately, the day didn’t allow for a detailed capturing of setting – it was rather foggy. Nevertheless, I think the mood adds to the impression, of the place, worthy of profound soliloquy.
