Plate G6.no3: The Cobbler 3 – May 2016 – Higher Skies

I’m not a hill walker; I never had been. Climbing did nothing for me. I always felt a sense of disappointment to be honest, when reaching a peak. Even this peak.
Nevertheless, I am mighty proud to have achieved the peak of the Cobbler – subsequent climbs of other hills and mountain have confirmed that Scotland can easily hold its own, as a place of outstanding beauty and unique quality. I suppose the fault lay more in me than the place – I climbed the Cobbler whilst consumed in grief. Even this stunning peak and sky was unable to impress upon me.
At the time I needed something unattainably higher. How grateful am I now, that I can finally appreciate the beauty.
