Plate G3.no7: Palazzo della Civilta Italiana (1937) EUR (Rome)

This place is not on any Rome tourist map, and one can see why: it’s cheerless.
But the architect in me loved it (once I’d separated that bit of my brain that sought to condemn, so intimate is the relationship of the manifestation to the political instigation). To be witness to the scale of ambition, was wonderful to see.
Only thing is: I’d care not to return – and if that’s the predominant feeling shared by those who live there, then there is definitely a problem……
