Plate G2.no18: Sunrise on Loch Lomond (Scotland)

Elsewhere in this gallery, there is a photograph of a sunset on Loch Lomond. Fitting that there should also be a sunrise – for it’s a place of implicit duality – as the song says: “ye’ll tak’ the high road, and I’ll tak’ the low road……”
I’ve known the song for as long as I can remember. It’s beautiful, made more so by the comprehension of what is meant, by ‘high road’ and ‘low road’.
I’ve walked a road to the loch’s bonnie banks; confoundedly, the terms ‘low’ and ‘high’, both were applicable. Immutably, however, the loch greeted me, and I have to say, the grief’s incomprehension was somehow lessened.
There are many lochs in Scotland. They all salve, but I can attest too, to the enduring prospective of this place.
