Plate G2.no3: Sunset on Loch Lomond – West Highland Way (Rowardennan [Scotland])

This picture is from my first major trek, the West Highland Way, May 2016.*
It was taken at the end of the second day, from my bedroom window in the Rowardennan Hotel. The colours have been manipulated, but only slightly – the sunset was as glorious as it looks……though the main reason I like the picture is because of the window-frame.
There are a couple of possible interpretations, the obvious being that the window, as a cross, implies pain. Alternatively, the frames intrusion might imply imprisonment, metaphorically, much as grief imprisons, by hindering appreciation, even and especially appreciation of beauty.
This would not however be accurate – the picture is included despite the truth of the latter, despite infringement. I recall simply being awed by the sunset’s absolute brilliance.
